George W. Pfeiffer
George Pfeiffer, known by many of his friends as “Skip”, began his practice of law with the firm of Lillick, McHose & Charles in San Francisco in 1980. In 1982, he joined the Walnut Creek firm of Gibbons, Stoddard, Lepper and Falco. In 1991, he formed Stoddard, Falco & Pfeiffer which later became Stoddard, Pfeiffer, Bergquist & Wood. In 2001, Mr. Pfeiffer started his own practice.
Having earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in economics (cum laude) from Stanford University in 1977 and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1980 from McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific), Mr. Pfeiffer was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.
Mr. Pfeiffer’s practice previously included admiralty, real estate and public entity law. In the 1990s, he expanded his practice to family law, which has become the major emphasis of his practice. He still offers estate planning services to clients as well as limited civil litigation. The highlight of his civil litigation practice was as counsel for Defendants in a five-week jury trial in Southern California which resulted in a verdict for the defense.
Mr. Pfeiffer is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association. He has served the Family Law Section of the County Bar Association in various capacities, most notably as editor of the In Chancery newsletter, and program chairman, as well as President, Vice President, and Secretary for the Family Law Section
Laura J. Pfeiffer
Laura J. Pfeiffer joined the Law Offices of George W. Pfeiffer as an associate in March of 2010. George W. Pfeiffer and Laura J. Pfeiffer subsequently became partners and formed Pfeiffer Law, LLP.
Ms. Pfeiffer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Oregon in 2003 and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Seattle University (cum laude) in May 2008.
Ms. Pfeiffer started her career practicing criminal law as a Deputy District Attorney at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. She gained significant litigation experience while prosecuting criminal cases in front of both juries and judges. Ms. Pfeiffer transitioned to family law when she joined her father, George Pfeiffer, in 2010 and now focuses her practice exclusively on family law.
Ms. Pfeiffer is admitted to practice law in California and Washington and is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.
