Family Law
Each case and every budget is unique and requires a different approach. Pfeiffer Law, LLP tailors its services to fit into each client’s unique situation. We can serve our clients through document preparation, consultation, acting as attorney of record, or serving as a mediator. With the exception of mediation, a client can choose a combination of services or change our role throughout the process as a client’s needs and budget change.
Document Preparation
There are many technicalities and frustrations with preparing and submitting documents to the court. We are here to help. If you already have an agreement for all aspects of you divorce, we can draft your Judgment and supporting documents. If you need help drafting the Petition to start the case, we can do that as well. Wherever you are in the process, there will be documents to draft, sign and file and we are happy to help you navigate the forms that are required to facilitate your agreements and wishes.
Consultation
When acting as your consulting attorney, we are available to provide advice, answer questions, draft court documents and correspondence, and prepare you for hearings, mediation, and trials. However, our name does not appear in any court records and we do not make any court appearances on your behalf. You will also continue to be served with any documents related to your case.
Attorney of Record
When acting as your attorney of record, we act as the point of contact in your case. In addition to the services provided as a consulting attorney, our name appears in the courts’ record and we appear in court on your behalf.
Mediation
Mediation is a private and confidential way to help resolve conflicts in an efficient and cost-effective manner. As a mediator, our job is to impartially facilitate communication between the parties, help the parties understand the options for resolving all issues submitted to mediation, and assist the parties in reaching an agreement on all of the issues. If you are able to reach an agreement in mediation, we will draft the agreement and other documents necessary to make the agreements court orders. No one knows your family like you and the other party and no one is more capable of reaching a decision that is best for everyone. Let us help you sit down and navigate the law so that you can find the best solutions for what is an otherwise complicated and difficult time in your life.
